"The Mattress Queen" Sunny Kobe Cook is an American success story! Sunny founded Sleep Country USA with only $5,000 in 1991, serving as CEO and company spokesperson for many years. This successful entrepreneur started her business with only $5,000, grew it to over $50 million in annual sales with 28 locations and sold it, retiring at age 42! She has gone on to be a celebrated author, motivational speaker and consultant.

Selling her retail store chain gave Sunny the opportunity to realize a lifelong dream. In her book, "Common Things, Uncommon Ways", she shares proven ways to improve any business through increased focus on the Customer Experience, Employee Recognition and Motivation.

About Sunny
Sunny began her career as a secretary. She moved to Portland from the Midwest when her research showed an opportunity in the highly profitable mattress business. While CEO of Sleep Country USA, she was named Inc. Magazine's Northwest Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and featured on the cover of Washington CEO magazine when her company was the first retailer to ever be recognized as "Best Place to Work." Along with numerous other business and corporate good citizen awards, she also received the Leadership and Communication Award from Toastmasters International.

Sunny Kobe Cook has long been known as a person who cares deeply about her community and generously supports a number of charities. She started the Kobe Foundation, which expands the education of our youth beyond the classroom.

Sunny lives in Seattle with husband, John Murphy, author of Success Without a College Degree and has 2 grown stepsons. She is passionate about travel and by the age of 40, had visited every continent! Most recently, she made a glorious trip to Egypt! Click Here for more info.
